February is the cruellest month - unless you’re a pickpocket, or LTE vendor

One of the few things to escape unscathed from the annual theft-fest held around the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year was the vendors’ LTE equipment. Among the usual tales of muggings and pockets-picked, the story of Telstra CEO Sol Trujillo stands out. He didn’t just have his phone nicked, he had a phone using a top-secret beta version of Windows Mobile 6.5 nicked… well, not him personally, but the designated phone-carrier at Telstra! More perversely, perhaps, the entire mobile-WiMAX value proposition also appeared to have been stolen this year.
